The sweet slow MoonDrop is a mix assembled mainly from tunage I've received from independent artists through the last half of 2007, fleshed out with a few label-supported artists like Hird, Praful and Torso and -- from way, way back -- Jefferson Airplane. It seems that things in Indie land trended toward the moody and the deep this past year, so the overall vibe of this mix is slow and mysterious with jolts of energy along the way. The hypnotic opening and closing tracks from unworking mind float you in and finally out of the mix.....

You'll hear tracks from old favorites The Warheads, BN Loco, SinQ and Greg Long (Canton) plus material from new artists Sonanaut, Alyse Black, Neptilos, unworking mind and Torso. All the artists are written up in the Declaration of Independents thread, as usual. You'll find that lots of links point to a myspace presence, which tends to confirm the increasing importance of that social networking site for musicians and their fans.

One of my favorite tracks from the newer artists is "Alpha Almighty", the first of two Torso tunes to make the cut ... the guitar work led me to include the Jefferson Airplane track "Embryonic Journey", a crowd killer that made Jorma Kaukonen a household name in late 60s USA ...

Because of the range of musical styles offered by all these folks, you'll find that a number of transitions on the mix rely on a simple drop or its variations -- thus the mix title.

I think from here the moon is not full currently, Germany is a bit more eastward from Florida. So we must see our all moon elsewise, or? Here it is cold at present. The winter has came back with snow! Damned!

Yes, your mixes are great, and I like also slow mixes. But my heart also beats for Hard-dance, Jumpstyle and House.
