Monkey-Do once started a thread about "Tracks that Define the Genre" -- that got me thinking about resurrecting "The Moment" for MixMeister Radio (which, sadly, meant deleting a couple of tracks from the original 74 minute set.) A collection of cult-status classic tracks, The Moment is a mix that zeros in on "the moment" when trip-hop morphed into downtempo ... well, it was more like a year than a moment, actually, but you get my drift.

The major names in triphop are in the line-up -- Portishead and Massive Attack -- while the selections from Nightmares on Wax and Tosca (Richard Dorfmeister) represent for pure downtempo.
