A friend who reminds me that I introduced him to atmospheric Drum'n'Bass has been asking for this mix for a while ... It was staggering to see how much DnB I had collected when that was the main thing I listened to Eek Add those to the newer releases I've picked up, and I see I can mine this vein for a while ... to begin with, Blue Science concentrates on the upper range of BPMs (although atmospheric DnB is particularly plentiful in the 80-100 range, so look for a second installment soon.)

This set includes out-and-out classics like Omni Trio's Serpent Navigators and PFM's Danny's Song as well as a couple of essentials from The Sub Zero. Newer tracks from EZ Rollers and Solaris represent for the continuing artistry in Drum'n'Bass.

Did you hear it, and if you did, did you get up and move? Let me know....

Hey MadameFLY, great mix! I love it. Cool Really smooth....and if I wasn't in the middle of eating dinner I probably would get up and move but my taco would go all over the room. Wink

Oooh, forgot to comment on this the other day (work got in the way before I got around to it Frown) but I thoroughly enjoyed this mix.

Drum and Bass is always a bit hit and miss for my ear but by concentrating on the atmospheric side you've captured the aspect of it that always appeals to me.

Can't remember any specific parts of the mix now, the whole thing just rolled along so smoothly (and as I was working I didn't keep an eye on the What's Playing).

Great stuff, looking forward to the second installment.

Thank you both for the feedback ...

There was lively discussion about mixing DnB a while ago ... I don't remember if this aspect figured into it but, FWIW, in this mix, all tracks are Standard not Beatmatched. So far, it looks to be progressing the same with the 80-100 BPM version currently in the works.

DnB certainly lends itself to that style of mixing rather nicely.

I finally had a chance to hear this - I love it! Drum 'N Bass is a tough one for me to get into, but the atmospheric stuff is a different animal - I find it much more melodic and emotive. Great set!

Props to Good Looking Organisation for putting the "human face" to Drum & Bass ... ppl (including me) that start twitching after about 2 mins of the harder DnB / Jungle generally find the atmospheric style quite agreeable.

Although I used tracks from numerous sources that pre-date GLO's dominance of the atmospheric DnB world, I relied heavily on my Logical Progression, etc. library ... LTJ and his crew deserve recognition for giving this sound street cred........

i have been making alot of Dnb at home and it is sorta mixed with industrial and electronic but it sounds different than what most people call music is is quick beats and sounds and most people who listen to it are usually trippin so i guess that my music is pretty good then right
