I get an error when I installed MM6Pro and tried to run it. Something about configuration error and telling me I should reinstall the program...
Well....7 reinstalls later, and the same error each time, I gave up. Any help? |

have you got any other versions of MM running on your machine?? or any remnants of it??
this happened to me a while back... this is what i did.first thing you need to do is move all your plot files somewhere safe and make sure your catalogue is saved somewhere. after you have un-installed...you need to look for the MM folder if it still exists, you need to delete it. Next thing to do is run something like Norton Utilities(if you haven't got this, don't worry) next thing i would do is defrag... when was the last time you did this?? finally re-install the program...hopefully this will work for you. |

I get the same. Just tried the Fusion 7.1.1 demo and get an error but this time it mentions 100?
I have uninstalled 6 and 7.11 demos, reg scanned and removed all redundant entries with ccleaner and defragged. Still no joy |

I see several problems here. First of all, the primary reason Microsoft abandoned development of its own cleaner for the registry many years ago is because it led to system instability. Anyone using a 3rd party registry cleaner is asking for trouble. There is a reason why MS has never released their own utility to do this. And, secondly, the current version of the Fusion demo for the PC is 7.2.2. However, given your errors, and your description of the procedures that you are using, I'd say you're probably headed down the path to system re-installation. Tim, Co-host of Jack2It MMRadio |

Moenkie,
Have you tried using Window's System Restore utility? Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore Choose "Restore from an earlier time", then choose a day on the calender where your PC was last stable. Any number of things can cause instability issues: Installation of 3rd party programs, virus, spyware, heck... sometimes some of Microsoft's updates can screw things up! If this doesn't solve anything, tepmix's suggestion of doing a reinstall should clear the problem up. (Backup your music, plot files, and catalog!!!) Good luck. Reinstalls aren't difficult, just time consuming. Hey Tim, that's a good point. I always wondered why Microsoft never released a registry cleaner or AntiVirus software (since they have AntiSpyware). Yes, System Restore is also something that you can try first before getting into the hassle of a re-installation.
Depending on how many passes of that 3rd party Registry Cleaner that you've used, you may be more or less successful with getting to a point at which you can actually get Mixmeister Pro and Fusion to work together in the same system. When running system restore, I'd choose a restore point (date/time) immediately prior to your troubles first, and then after that try to get your system back to a point, using earlier restore points, prior to the time you started using the registry cleaner in the first place. Whether you will be able to get both apps working concurrently or one or the other to work alone is up for grabs, depending on how corrupt your registry may have become over time with the use of this cleaner. However, I've also seen issues with people using 3rd party registry cleaners where system restore does not function properly after having used these dang things. However, MMPro and Fusion will work concurrently in the same system. I've got Pro 5, Pro 6 and Fusion all installed and working fine in mine. However, I am anally retentive in how pristine I keep my system, avoiding continuous installation and uninstallation of software, particularly that of "trial" and "demo" software. I don't try out software unless I'm seriously interested in using it, and I often leave 3rd party software products that I install in place, even if I'm not using them any more as uninstallation processes also make registry changes. All of these things lead to WinRot over time. Registry cleaners are dangerous and those that use them do so against MS and IT specialist best-practice recommendations. Addendum: By the way, because of the original poster having had the problem with Pro 6, I've confused and merged it together with yours. However, whether using Pro 6 or Fusion, the registry issues described and solutions to them are identical in trying to get either program to run under such a scenario. This message has been edited.
