Hello I am a newbie to MM and I can't seem to get it to play on either of my studio pc's. I have tried the pro trial and the studio versions.

My sound card is a LYNX ONE from Lynx Studio Technologies.

Can someone explain how to get this to work?

Could you clarify what version of MixMeister you are trying to run? You've posted in the Pro 6 forum; Pro 6 is no longer for sale.

Once you let us know which version you're talking about, I'll move your post to the appropriate forum ...

Also, it would help if you would be a bit more specific about the problem: The software doesn't load? It loads, but you can't add mp3s to the library? You can add tracks to the library but when you click on the track in the library or add it to the playlist and then click on it, you don't get any sound? You are on XP? Vista? You have / have not downloaded the latest drivers for your sound card?

OK The two trials I have downloaded are MM Pro 6 and MM Studio.

I am using XP pro. I do have the current drivers for my sound card. What happens is I am able to load the programs, load a plot but when I press play in both programs, it never plays. The bar never moves in the wave area. It just does nothing.

Make sure you have an output device (soundcard)selected in the audio output options.

Yes my current sound card is selected. Also my card is a LYNX ONE. It works in every other program we use. AA, Cool Edit, Sound Forge Ect....

I'm assuming you are referring to MixMeister Fusion and MixMeister Studio, or Express 6 and Studio ... that's really all that's available as downloadable demos, as illustrated on this page. Are you working with Studio now?

You say you "press play" and nothing happens.

--What happens when you double-click a track in the playlist (the right-side panel)?
--What happens when you select (highlight) a track in the Library (left-side panel) and hit ENTER?
--What happens when you cursor on a track in the timeline (wave area in the center) and hit your spacebar?

Any of these actions should cause music to play....

Other than your soundcard (which as you note, works well with other audio programs) there doesn't seem to be anything unusual about your system ... What about the tracks that you imported into the program -- what format are your tracks -- mp3, wav or wma? (These are the only file-types supported.) Are the CBR or VBR files? Do they have DRM imposed on them -- e.g., music from iTunes?

Oh, and there's also plur's suggestion, above -- faulty demo download....

Yes from the MM website. From the nearest one to me (server i mean) the one in Texas. How do you contact MM support without a serial number.

You can reach our technical support department these ways.

They will talk to you without a serial number. However, the level of support will be different than if you bought the product.

Please check out our latest versions, Fusion and Studio 7. Pro 6 has been discontinued.
