Was there any error code associated with the message "Unable to initialize CD-R"?
I'd suggest you use the web update to make sure youre on the latest build. OB! |

How did I install what? The CD burner came with the PC... The message 'CD-R unable to initialize CD-R engine' comes up with no error code. Viral interference??

ahhhh, my bad, you're using a new burner, didn't realize that (wasn't mentioned). you may just need a quick fix from support

Cheers Phreaq. It's not actually new as in never-been-used but the prob appears to be with the CD-R driver. I'm sure re-installing will take care of business...

hello, i got the same error today; looks like this bug was introduced with the new MM 7.1.1.0; i was able to record cds before, now i have this error!!! Beatnik, let me know what you've done to correct, thanks!
