Yes, you can have both applications installed on the same machine at the same time. However, you should only actually "run" one at a time. I assume you're referring to dual installation.

Based on a question that Mme. Fly posited to me in another forum, I should perhaps clarify this a bit. You can actually have both applications open at the same time, but you shouldn't try to use them at the same time.
There is the slight risk that you could have problems there, and I would not try to do that in a live performance situation, in an instance, say, when you wanted to cue a set in one app in preparation for a set to finish in the other, and then expect the other app to cue immediately into a new set when the other is finished. Even worse, trying to run them both at the same time, as in trying to beatmatch the outro of the set of one app into the intro of the set of the other. That seems like it would be a stretch for anyone, but doing something like that in live performance would be risky, as both apps are vying for similar system resources. You wouldn't want to risk an application freeze/restart or system reboot because you locked up your computer during a live performance. Tim, Co-host of Jack2It MMRadio |

DJ Doe,
Wow! From a technical standpoint, you've got me curious. I agree with tepmix in that the applications will be vying for similar resources. At the same time, if your PC has enough horse power you might be able to pull this off. Here's something you can try, make sure that your sound cards are on 2 separate USB ports so that mmp6 and Fusion don't share the same bandwidth. Make sure your PC has enough RAM. Also, I'm thinking a Dual Core processor would work better than a single core processor. And finally, use the ASIO feature rather than Direct Sound or Wave Out. Try testing this situation out using Fusion DEMO so that you don't have to pay for Fusion till you're confident this works the way you want. Good luck, let us know!! Live, Love, and Dance, DJ_Edgy |
