I've been tinkering with Studio 7 for a few months now and seem to be running into the same headache over and over. So I'm hoping that someone could help me out here.

I often select 4-8 measures in the beginning of Song A (such as an intro percussion-only section), copy them, and then paste them to the end of Song A to mix with the intro of Song B which is typically a few BPM faster than Song A. But in doing so, the pasted measures never line up properly with the measure markers in Studio.

To clarify when I mean, see the images below...

Song A is "Show Me" (113.4 BPM).
I select measure 12-14 and copy them:

I then paste those copied measures to the end of the song 4 times in a row appearing at measures 216, 218, 220, and 222:

Everything is fine at this point and the pasted measures play right on the markers.

Then I add Song B "Let the Music Play" (116.03 BPM). Check out the previously-pasted measures now. They each stretch out slightly (I have no idea why), one after another. The 4th pasted measure is almost a full quarter note off at this point and of course playing the resulted mix is a mess far from being in sync.

Have you had your serotonin surge today?

Have a look at this post from Banter -- he talks about the importance of setting measure markers in the song slicer prior to a copy/paste action.

I wouldn't think that this is due to faulty Measure Markers ... looks more to me as if the transition type is not Beatmix but Simple, thus if you add a new song the Master BPM will abruptly change and the beats of the outro will shift out of whack... I suggest you check your standard transition type (tell me if you don't know how to do that).

Thanks for the input. I always check the measure markers and in this case they were spot on. No changes needed.

I also tend to change the transition to "No transition" or "Simple Custom".

But it appears that I have solved the problem by simply setting the BPM of Song B identical to whatever Song A left off at.

So, referring to my original post, if I manually change the BPM of Song B from "116.03" to "113.4" to match Song A, then everything is in sync.

I can then gradually ramp up the BPM to the original 116.03 or more by adding a tempo marker further down the line.
