MM Pro 4
Hi, Im about to format and get my PC ready for a gig, its been quite some time since I did this and Im worried I may not get my bpm information back and will have to go through the whole bpm calculating process again, I have over 160 GB of music so this process takes a hell of a long time. Ive found by copying all the archive files to a cd or partition didnt work the last time I formatted. MM still went through the BPM calculations. Any ideas where I may be going wrong here? I havent changed any of the files properties etc, I never allow MM to alter my files in any way. Hope someone can help me with this frustrating problem. I don't fake it, I simply designed it! |

The main problem is that you have to make very sure that the directory structure of each music file is placed back in it's original directory structure after you format a Hard Drive. Please back up your archive folder that is inside MM4. Also, when you put everything back, make sure that all your files are put back where they should be, before opening mm4. Another thing? Do you have your plot cache in MM4 set to unlimited? This would help. |

Hi Andre,
Sorry, I should have given some more info. My OS is on its own dedicated partition and all the music files are too. So therefore nothing actually gets moved. I always instal back to the same directories etc. Before the format I saved my MM folder MixMeister Engine 4 to another location. After the reinstal I installed MM and set the archive folder to where it was backed up to F:\MixMeister Engine 4\Archive Now when I add my music files it starts to calculate the plots all over again. I just cant figure it out, never had been able to figure it out either. I would be nice if this back up was in MM FAQ because I cant imagine Im the only one with this problem am I? And of course just when you get a gig lined up you really need the answers. Murphy's Law. I've got a shed load of files (160+GB) and only 2 days. Its not an emergency because Im only playing general music stuff that wont involve much mixing (I hope). Thanks PS Dont know if this is a forum problem but I set my preferences to notify me by email when I get a reply but I havent had any such email hence the late reply.
