The glitch between the tracks is a 2 second pause most software adds between each track... you need to burn the tracks with an application like Nero that allows you to set DAO (disc at once) and then remove the 2 seconds between each track... very easy to do.
I don't think the Demo allows you to burn directly from MM to CD... last I heard. -= Douglas -= All Mixxed Up -= www.mixx-it.com |

thanks douglas, but its not a pause... I use disc at once with mmjb, which works well eliminating gaps between tracks. I use "glitch" simply for lack of a better term. In the transition between tracks there's a slightly noticable difference in that brief second of segway... sort of like a "open microphone" type sound.... the volumn is the same, its just you "hear" when the music changes tracks..... and again its only for a split second, and most people probably wouldn't even notice...... it's just something I would like to resolve.. but I will take your suggestion and try burning the same disc with nero and see if there's a difference... doc

There might be some of the following suggestion that you may want to check to see if it applies to your "glitch" problem.
1) Have you tried using a different burner? Maybe your burner is showing signs of a malfunction? 2) Do you have enough Ram while burning a CD? Are you using other programs in the background while burning a CD? 3) Does the same songs have the glitch? Have you tried listening to those tracks using a different player, just to makes sure that the MP3s are not corrupted? Also, if you did some splits or loops on these transitions, if you zoom in you may see some audio gaps that need to get fixed? 4) Do you have audio options to "all the way reliable"? Go to Tools, Audio Options, Advance, drag the slider to all the way reliable. And try to record again. Let me know? "Rocking the House with MMPro-5!!" |

What are you using for playback? Is it your computer, a DVD player, a stand alone CD player? Typically, if the device you are using for playback has mp3 capability or you are using your computer the momentary pause is caused by the machine controlling the playback. Try playing your CD-Rs in a stand alone home or car CD player; a CD player without mp3 or wma playback. If possible, I'd even skip one that claims to be CD-R and CD-RW compatible. The problems stems from how the machine reads the disc.
And, D is correct: the demo version of MM software do not support CD burning. ---JET There's more to life than the recipe! |

thanks for all the suggestions... the only burner I've tried so far is mmjb, and I've tweaked the settings as best I know. I've tried a simple burn, and burning with digital enhancements and volumn leveling, both together and alone, saving the cache to hard disk, ect... now I can burn the same disc as one track and there's not a problem.. but when I create seperate tracks [and I always use disc at once settings, as well as afore mentioned settings] is when I get my "glitch"... again, there is not a pause... it's just when the music changes tracks there is an "ambience" type sound at the moment the tracks change.... if you've ever worked with a microphone and had the gain up just a little and opened the mic, there is a noticable ambient sound the moment the mic opens... not a "feedback" sound... if you've ever been in a broadcast room, or any quiet room for example and had the door open suddenly. your senses pick up that "extra space" so to speak.. I have played the cd's on numerous cd players and the results are the same. I should have plenty of ram, as I have 512 with a P3-450, with windows xp pro, and minimal programs running in the system tray.. the disc burns at a very resonable time using a sony cdr rw at 40x; I also have a sony 4x in a second drive and the results are the same with a burn in that drive too.. as far as a "big" distraction, it's not. 50% of the folks don't hear it unless its pointed out, and of course the lower the volumn the less noticable... I think my version of mmjb is 7.5... I have windows media but really never bothered using it ... I will try that plus getting nero installed and running.. thanks again for all the interest and feedback .. I really appreciate it..... as the slogan goes in the - pga -commericals, you guys are really good ! doc
