Hello,
New the the board. Thanks for all the great info. However I have an issue I can;t seem to find help with. I can not get the dual output function to work correctly. I am not new to using and configuring my sound-card so thats why I am stumped. It does not work with either the built in headphone jack or my Presonus firebox? If anyone has any idea why this could be happening let me know please. BTW My dual output works fine in Live. I am also having an issue with cut outs when I am playing live. Some times if I adjust eq settings while the mix is coming up it cuts out for about 5 seconds or so then comes back in. If I rewind it does it agin. If I replace the song with the same song from my library it sounds clean with no cut out. Pretty frustrating when you have a packed dancefloor Thanks in advance! |

Dual output works fine for me, on a couple different MacBook Pros. The closest thing to a problem I've had has been MMF getting confused if I unplug my headphones from the built-in output (which I use for the preview channel) to use somewhere else. Some period of time less than a minute later, the main output will go silent, and the only way to recover is to re-set-up my audio output configuration. In general, I try to launch the program with both outputs connected, and leave them that way until my set is done.
I've run into your second problem (a song cutout or noise that can only be fixed by replacing the song in the playlist with a fresh copy from the library) a few times, maybe 3 or 4 in a year and a half, but haven't been able to figure out anything more. |

i have found that on my macbook pro, in order to get dual output to work i have to: first, power up the computer with no externals attached. then attach your external sound card (and MM control if you are using it,) and THEN start mixmeister. go to tools>audio output configuration to assign your outputs.
i also noticed that dual sound out (and several other MM funtions,) did not work when i also had airfoil installed. i had to call a mac geek friend and have him walk me through a terminal operation in order to uninstall airfoil, so it's probably best not to ever install that program, ever. as for mysterious cut-outs during play, yeah... i get those sometimes too. no explanation, no solution. i'm still trying to figure that one out. my theory is that mixmeister is not entirely compatible with mac. |
