I read Banter's page about the song slicer (which includes a dead link to a page written by Wildr). Anyone have a valid link to Wildr's page?
Also, I'm still really confused about the song slicer. I've watched the tutorials, read the help manual many times and read all the posts... and it's not as simple as it looks. Mostly, I am confused about the measure markers and how to place them properly. And the metronome always starts off well, but then drifts off beat. I only mix 4/4 dance music and very rarely do ANY of my songs mix without tweaking them. One trick I use in the timeline is this: turn off snap to beat, manually adjust the intro/outro anchotor (by a VERY small fraction...) until I get the beats to match for 8 beats. But, this takes A LOT of work, and I'm wondering if anyone knows how to simplify the process. I've been using Fusion for almost 5 months and I'm no closer to understanding the song slicer. A detailed song slicer tutorial would be the most beneficial thing I could think of. Any help would be appreciated. |

You can also go ahead and change the "Snap To" by going to Tools>Snap To. This should allow you to streamline how it snaps.

oh how I wish I had time to explain Pacific but this summer has been really good to me so I have not time. SORRY!
Best advice I can give is that one little line that was so important... One can not teach another how to see music over the internet so I suggest getting together with a DJ in person that can show you LIVE! Once another DJ can show you LIVE how music works then the SongSlicer comes easy. I learned the SongSlicer in two to three days after I saw MixMeist for the first time. But then again I knew what music looks like on paper. Trust me, you can learn from another DJ in a matter of a couple hours. However it is getting your ears, mind and hands to work all at the same time. Good Luck Banter |
