Updated to 7.2.2 and now can't delete files off the Hard drive. I am spring cleaning and want to permently remove doubles and now MM7.2.2 won't delete them to the recycle bin. Very fustrating.. If I delete them from the catalog that works the same as delete from Hard drive?

Anyone else have this problem?

I tried to delete a track from the hard drive (using Studio 7.2.2) and what happened was that the mxm file was deleted, but the actual mp3 file remained. The mxm file was not found in the Recycle bin.

Jon, does yr mxm go and yr mp3 remain behind, or do both remain?

I and others were complaining of this same problems in 7.1.1

I have not yet installed 7.2.2 because I figured 7.1.1 was doing so well I would wait to see if 7.2.2 had any bugs.

As for deleting from the library…..
In 7.1.1 I found that deleting the song from the Library, and then going and deleting the MP3 as well as the MXM file if it was still there. Then before you do a thing (do not close out of MixMeister yet), you MUST empty your recycle bin. This way the MP3 and/or the MXM file can not be reloaded as it was/is doing.
If I did this everything worked fine. You just have to remember to delete that MP3 and empty the recycle bin. Again, another reason why MixMeister should not save anything if you want the song deleted. I will state again, “If one wants a song deleted from the Library, it should be deleted or at least it should not reload”.

Now if this is not proof that there is something here that needs to be addressed…. All I can hope is that this does not fall on deaf ears.

Sorry, I am just trying to get my point heard.

Yes, it only deletes the mxm file and removed the mp3 from the catalog but not the harddrive. What could be causing this? My other versions of MMF7 delete as supposed to. It is a small matter compared to the hudge difference 7.2.2 makes in terms of sound quailty. I love 7.2.2 other than the deleting mp3 issue. I'll still miss using directx plugins though. MixMeister TEAM! Keep Up the great work you do!!!

I hear you load and clean JohntheDJ, I guess it is not important or they do not think it is important enough. I do not have that answer and because I love MixMeister as much as you I will not cut the company at all! I would simply wish someone would conceder what problems this is causing those who would like to keep a clean house.

I am writing what I wrote above because I left a step out:

This sounds like a lot of extra work. I've heard mixed reviews on Fusion. I've always been a huge fan of MixMeister and I am a dedicated Pro 5 user (not live...only for recording).

Here is a new post on this problem that really is not a problem once you figure out how to do it correctly. It only took me just over a year to figure it out and that was after it was explained to me but I guess I did not understand. Go to the following post and you will see how easy it truly is to delete MXM.Files.

This is the way to do it according to the help files:

To set the behavior of "Delete from Library" in MixMeister Studio

>>
You can choose to have MixMeister Studio do one of three things when you delete a music file from the Library—remove the file from the Library, but leave it on your hard drive; remove the file from both the Library and your hard drive; or let you decide which of these options you want on a case-by-case basis.

On the Tools menu, choose Options, and then click the Music Files tab.

Under When Deleting Files from the Library, click the option you want, and then click OK.
>>

MIXMEISTER! for gods sake. You know this bug has been in version 7 since it was born. WHY don't you FIX THE BUG!!!

http://community.beatmixing.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=1126...021077242#4021077242

I can reproduce this error on both my desktop and my laptop! IT IS A BUG.

Is the file opened and kept open? LOOK into your code boys! This is simply not good enough.

Frank

Hi

Thank you for your MixMeister inquiry. The delete problem is known and will
be fixed in a future update. The work around is to manually delete the
songs. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Let me know if you have additional questions.

Regards,

---Jeff

That’s what I have been trying to say Planet Star...
The fix is not the way it should be even though I can get it to work, but not the way it should be!

Great, I wonder what else they have not listened to before making 7.3.2

Oh how interesting…

Here I just made the above post ….
Installed MixMeister 7.3.2….
Then I went to delete all those samples in the “Entire Library” as I always do before adding my music (Hint Hint).
And no kidding as I hit delete a box popped up stating that MixMeister just crashed. Then a box followed telling me that a picture of what I was doing was taken and will be sent to MixMeister.
LMAO, well maybe now they will believe there is a glitch when it comes to deleting.

Oh to funny. lolbnr

Well maybe I can now see what else is good.
