Hi,

Thanks for a very informative forum.

I have been having a problem with MM. Normally, when I design my mix, I use MM to burn it onto a CD -- MM preserves the mixes and overlaps well.

Now, given that MM no longer allows me to burn CDs (it just hangs at the initialization screen), I decided to export the mixed tracks to be burnt using an external program such as Nero.

The problem is that Nero can read the mixed files, but leaves about a 1 second gap between the tracks. i played with the track settings, asking Nero to leave no gaps (0 seconds), but it still does not help.

..any thoughts...

thanks - DannyK

What is the player you are playing the CD back in.

I am no pro at why this is happening Dan, but I did have this problem once on a cheap car CD player. Note: I am not calling your stereo cheap. Mine was not cheap either at $700.00 but when it played like an eight track player of the 70's... to me that made it cheap.

Another question:
Do you have the paid version? Sometimes "Trial Downloads" do funky things at a certain point.

Banter, thanks for your quick response.

Re CD players, the issue is noticeable when i play the mix on computers, home stereo and in my car.

And Yes, I am using a paid version...

thannks - Danny

Dan,
Sorry you are having issue burning the CD, but trying to fix the Nero problem i don't think is the solution.

You should look into fixing the burning with MM. I have been trying to search this forum, but cant find the link to the file that you can run that might fix your problem.

The best thing you should do is contact support by using this link HERE

Hi Danny ( and welcome to the forum Smile)

Just a quick thought .... what are you exporting as?
.WAV or .MP3?

If you haven't tried exporting your mix in MM as .WAV (and using that to burn a CD with Nero) then maybe try that. I believe there is an "issue" with .MP3 in that you will always get a gap between tracks. If you search for "MP3 gap" in this forum you'll find plenty of info, but to get you started try this thread.

Hope that helps,

Neb.

Hi,

thanks for all your help and ideas.

I contacted TechSupport and they sent me instructions to upgrade my CD-R drivers. I applied the patch and it did help once, but then reverted to having difficulties initializing the CD-R. The last option I have is to uninstall and reinstall my CD-R drive.

In the meantime, I found a way to burn MM mixes saved as *.wav files, without gaps between tracks, using Nero. I posted a new thread covering this to help those with difficulties.

thanks very much....DK

mp3 files will have a 1/75 chance of not having a gap, by design. that means you have a 74/75 chance of getting a gap!

use wav

Save mix as separate tracks and as .wav and save/put them all on your desktop.
Next...open Nero...set to burn data cd and burn as disc at once.
Now drag the separated wav files on your desktop by numerical order into the add files box in Nero.
Nero will burn them flawlessly into separate tracks...with no gaps at all.
Info: mp3 files will always leave a gap when burned....the key is to separate tracks and save as .wav and burn as disc at once.

exactly but you dont have to drag in numerical order. When you export MM already numbers the tracks, so they can dragged in and then in NERO you can just click "name" ( i think) to place all the tracks in their proper order.
