On it's way up is the first new mix from Monkey Do in bloomin' ages. It's called Open Source Vol 1, taking it's name from the fact that the tunes are entirely taken from the Ektoplasm free music library. Don't let the fact that these tunes are free fool you though, one listen to the mix and you'll agree that these cuts are easily as good as commercial releases - look at it this way, the "Vol 1" in the title means I'm anticipating this becoming a bit of a series such is the quantity of absolute quality out there.
Style wise it's largely what you might expect from one of my sets - it's hard and psychedelic for the most part but with enough melodic content to keep you interested even if you aren't in the middle of a forest or a disused warehouse. Enjoy. |

DJ now on-air: Monkey Do
Mix Name: Open Source Vol 1 Current Track: Phazer Current Artist: PhaseTech Time into Mix: 00:18:14 # Listeners: 3 I'm only 18min in and the grooves from the beginning tracks are incredible. I pray this continues all the way through. All I have to say is that you need a huge system (or really good headphones) to really appreciate all the repeating elements. CRAZY Stuff!!!
