I didn't think I was going to be joining the festivities this Halloween, but then I was cleaning up a few external hard drives and came across some partial MixMeister playlists. I loaded up one that was titled "scary tish"... not remembering what it was, I was surprised to hear it was a set I began for this years Club Horror that I started working on shortly after last years Club Horror after visiting a friend who works at a local independent record shop. No major labels... only independents. I was scouring through the used cd section and came across one that looked interesting. It had a picture of Jason's mask from the Halloween movies and was by someone calling himself Dr Macabre. It had to be scary right? I threw it on one of the cd listening stations and found myself listening to all 3 cds from start to finish. I was inspired enough to bring the cd home, rip it, and begin slicing and editing what I heard. The end result is what you will hear. I am showing the original cd artwork (just adding the notes on the bottom)... and I am using the original artist, Dr Macabre, and the original cd name... Paranoid Archives as the mix name.

This mix is inspired by the works of Dr Macabre. It contains 30 of the original 32 tracks from Paranoid Archives. You will be taken on an eerie ride of amazing intros and breakdowns to some heart pounding beats. It starts off moderately slow at around 135bpm then travels on up to 212bpm. Dr Macabre has a unique beat style which I have incorporated in the first 17 minutes of the mix... after that is when the real fun begins with Poltergeist. From that point on it is hard beat after hard beat.

Mixing Hardstyle / Hardcore is really fun for me as it brings back a lot of good memories of spinning vinyl back in the day. I had fun wrapping this up over the past few days and I hope it fits well here at Club Horror.
