This maybe a little premature, because have to get my physical done, but I just want to let you all know that after all my physical qualifications and the ASVAB test, I will be joining the Air Force in a few months. I won't be leaving quite yet, depending on my job and what I'll be doing and how long it takes them to ship me off. But I'd thought it be thoughtful to let you all know ahead of time in case I got caught up in something and wasn't able to let any of know before I left. I don't plan on leaving Beatmixing forever or anything, but there will be that long period where I'll be at bootcamp and will have no contact whatsoever. Just thought I'd let you all know....

That's excellent Mike! It'll be the best experience of your life, and hopefully by the time you finish your training (not just basic), we'll have this country turned back around and headed in the right direction. No pressure, but America's depending on you.

This is a big decision for me, and I'm definitely ready for change. Life's about to take a big turn for the good I hope, and once I leave I'll come out changed man, not too changed I hope..but as far as career wise goes, thats a definite.

Ya know, you could've went USMC, but I won't hold it against you. J/K! Seriously, what we need is people stepping up and doing what most can't or won't do, so I congratulate you on your decision and I can say from experience it will be a blast. Just don't let Kid K read this, or I'm gonna have to listen to you two swap flyboy bullshit stories all of the time!

Good luck to you on this decision. I've been in for 15 years, getting close to retirement. The AF has been good to me. Met my wife through the AF, the AF paid for my Masters degree, and got to travel a lot from Missouri, to Germany, to Arizona and now Kansas. Next will be my home state of Florida! I had a similar experience as DJ Kid K. I now have my masters degree and a great job due to the USAF. I anticipate we will see you back doing trance sets fairly quickly after basic training and tech school. Good decision. summer65

Sounds like we got a lot of success stories here through the military! Truthfully, I think everyone should do their part as well, the military provides a lot of opportunity, and gets people feet on the right track. I'm hopin it does the same for me!

It's a big step Mike and an important one ... my mom worked most of her life for either the Pentagon or the Air Force Assoc., and there's a long-standing respect for our men in uniform in my family ... I wish you all the best with this stage of your life!

I was in the German Army for 15 month in the 1980s. It was a cool time. When I would be younger I would also apply myself again for a job there - ok, perhaps I would come to Afghanistan or Iraq, but I would do it! I would have a thrilling job again and good money! But I´m too old with my 44 years.
