I will be putting together some mini-mixes for the station soon! I got myself a Mixmiester Control and have been playing around with it lately, getting used to it and such.

I'm not used to using a mixer as I have been using just Mixmiester software for some time now. I plan on releasing these as raw as I can. These mixes will consist of about 6 songs, or around 40 mins.

If anyone else feels like they could make some mini-mixes, or have any unfinished projects they may have that can pass as finished. Then feel free to upload! The more the merrier!

Just noticed a few mistakes in the last mini-mix, if anyone else caught them too let me know cause I will improve my performance for my next live sets, still trying to get adjusted to the mixmiester control! It sounded like the bass was a bit too high on some songs and to tell you the truth, if anyone else has used the Controller yet, the knobs when using them and the reaction from the computer seems a bit off, so I almost have to guess where the bass, treble, and midrange will end up..its a bit scary and Im hoping I get used to it..

I wonder why its off? I got a Korg Midi controller and I set Mixmeister to the preset controller and it worked great!
I'm guessing you updated to the latest version of MM already? If not try that.

Hi Fieds! I am a user of MM control for 6 months or so. Due to the lack of responsiveness you mention, I bought a Beringher DDM4000, a supercomplete digital mixer for $400. I seriously recomend it. Then...I just bought my second computer, macbook pro this time, to run Ableton. Let me say I am having a lot of fun with MM as primary, effects and sampler on the beringher, and overlays and keyboards on the apple. Somehow I miss shorter loops from the decks, but hey, I am ready to connect a wireless keyboard to the apple and doing some PVD stuff!

is anyone else playing two computers or am I the only crazy geek?

Hey Miguel, yes I did go out and buy one. Unfortunately its true, the MM Control has a low response time when it comes to DJing, which is definitely not acceptable for any live performances at least. I might look into this Beringher mixer you speak of. It looks to be a better way to go with live performances. A Macbook would have to wait though, I want one extremely bad, but they are a little pricey right now.

I've seen PvD in action too, I was a little surprised in how he played with computers only. I didn't think any of the top DJ's played with just strictly those. In any case, he put on an amazing set in Atlanta when I was there! Go PvD!

Even though I'm not around, I still lurk when I can.

DUCK!! You've been missed man. Been trying to hold the fort thus far, but as you can see the alot has slowed down here as of recently. Glad to hear you'll be making regular appearances on here! Can't wait to here new work from you.
