Why not?
I love many, many styles, and that is perhaps so cause I have done music in my youth by myself. I catch the structure of a song. So I play on parties always beetween slow songs. Tom, I have often answered myself what music you have played in your club - years in Berlin! And no kidding Tom and MadameFly: Why not downtempo playing in the clubs! It may be the all the rage! The "Downtempo - club"! Let´s groove to it! |

To the licence - problem:
I think you need a laptop or a PC with two sound-cards, "Windows professional" and "Mixmeister Fusion". Mixmeister Technologies has construced "Fusion" for playing live. I don´t have "Fusion", but before I have bought "Studio 7" I have checked all music programms. Mr. DnC, you have "Fusion" and you have uploaded your great set "Live @ Velvet Ultra Lounge (Baby Anne)". Is that a live - recording with "Fusion", sir? "Fusion" is for playing live, so why should Mixmeister Technologies interdict to work professional with the programm? That would be idiotic! So have you played live with "Fusion" Mr. DnC? Tell us than your experiences with this? Again: It would be idiotic when Mixmeister Technologies forbid to work with "Fusion" professional, cause this programm is made for playing live! |

I've used Pro 6 live, Studio 6 live, and seen Fusion played with by the Master. Even played a show once where I tossed back and forth between CD's, vinyl, and MM. Awkward at times it was, but you must know your music to be able to pull it off. I will admit I train-wrecked a bit, but when the beats needed to hit, they hit. (rock bottom...I think I was booed of the stage that night
Watching the manipulation of the USB Controller interface and Fusion was amazing. I saw MM_Aaron obliterate all I thought the program could be in Ohio at Mayhem. There is so much more interfacing with MMF if you have the right tools. But alas, I don't feel like I can truly touch the full potential until I get that Bheringer I've been drooling over for so long. _____________________________________________________________________________________ according to my wife....I lived here?? Yeaaaahhhr guys and ladies!
"Fusion" is a fantastic programm for live playing! As far as I know one sound - card plays the playlist that you have created. With the second sound - card in your PC / Laptop you can hear the sound before that. Thus you can create the sound quasi live. And when you compare the acquirement with another equipments, it is even cheap. You need a fast laptop , Windows professional and Mixmeister Fusion. About at the most 2000 Dollars or so. When you buy a classic DJ - Set (Turntables, good mixer, DJ - CD - players) you buy fast 10000 Dollars or so. And you can control the sound with your computer - set perfect: Bass, Treble, Middle, Volume, you can do perfect loops live, perfect overlays, perfect transitions, fuse one or more tracks perfect beatmixed together. All quasi live! It is a fantastic programm! This message has been edited. Last edited by: DJ Mojito, |

DJ Mojito - I may be wrong but I think when Moto said:
he was not talking about MM Studio mixes...he meant Studio made compilations (for sale) that require you to pay license fees to the labels in order to use the tracks
useing MM for professional work IS allowed...selling your mixes without paying license fees to the labels is not ----------------------- Fusion + Behringer = I've stoped carrying arround my traditional gear...Duck, let me know when you get your Behringer |

I understand that it's not that easy. In addition to paying a license fees to the copyright holder for each and every track, you need a permission from the label that distributed the specific track you're using ... say you wanna sell a mix with a track you ripped from a CD you will need specific permission from the distributor/label of that CD. I further understand that in many, if not most, cases you will be required to pay a fee for that permission ... All in all that means you will have to pay two fees for each and every track, one for the intellectual property that you're using, and one for the hardware source of the material your're using (if you receive permission to use the source material at all). So it's not simply a question of putting money on the desk ... it's a pain-staking administrative process you'll have to undergo, addressing every single label of the tracks you wanna mix, and begging for permission to use their material. I can only assume that these labels condition their permission at their discretion, i.e. if they don't like the way you're mixing the track, they will not give permission or they will withdraw it at a later stage ... that's why I think it's really not worth trying to pull this of on your own. If you wanna sell mixes, you need a label to deal with all this legal stuff ... they've got much more bargaining power than you!!! But try and find a label to distribute you're mixes? I've heard that the market for mixed compilation CDs is already saturated with mixes by top notch DJs WITH A NAME ... chances to get accepted by a label are slim as competition is fierce ... So, that's the end of the story for me ... I'm just happy to have found beatmixing.com: I can publish my mixes without having to worry about copyrights or anything else (apart from the quality of my mixes that is free your ears and your mind will follow... |

I agree!
But how I have told it: That DJ has no name! He only plays tracks from a internet offerer! He mixes with Mixmeister and other programs and publishes his mixes at internet platforms! Than he makes publicity at other forums for his mixes! Before that he has written to the internet offerer and has agreed that he gets 7 procent from each track that he plays in his mix for every download of his mix! So he has made 1000 dollars in a half year. Remember: No DJ with a name, just a bedroom - DJ like us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This message has been edited.
