For me it's really an element that MM lacks and i'm not actually sure how it can be incorporated into its present day fusion. Maybe it can be able to switch to live mixing via timecoded vinyl/cd on the fly and then seemlessly play back on beat where it left off. That would be in theory but i'm not sure if that would ever be able to or its really needed becuase is Fusion is already good at what it does.

Well I've been looking for a plugin that could do the scratching sound, and I haven't been able to find any that I can use in fusion. Kinda annoying actually.
An addiction to music you can't sweat out. |

I've used Serato Scratch and it is pretty amazing and super easy to use. But as Jez said, nothing beats MixMeister for making a studio perfect set, editing, tweaking, etc, but for real time DJ'ing live in a club full of people I would probably prefer using Serato if I was playing from my hard drive/laptop, as it has a very natural feel to it when beatmatching with vinyl (plus as mentioned you can scratch to your heart's content and it works flawlessly), the ease of setting cue points and creating loops are awesome, the interface is extremely easy to use and learn, and it just works well. MM and Serato are two best of breed solutions for different situations in my opinion, but then again I have never used MM Fusion for live mixing...

I use Serato when i Dj out on shows. It is Amazing.
Love it now that i can carry in 70,000 + tracks to a club and play what i want. Always hated carrying the record bags/cases through airports. Just to damn heavy. Serato is a life saver. I have to agree with you DJMarko. MM & Scratchlive are two best of breeds and different. I feel if you can DJ live (beatmix) using Serato or any other source, then you can be proud to send out Mix Cd Demos using MM. What i don't think is right is how people send out Mix Demo Cd's and they cant hold a beat. MM is a GREAT tool, that is why i just dropped $400 on it. I can make a mix in less then 10 minutes, but also, i can go to a club that books me and make the same flawless mix live on Turntables or Cd players. |

Hi!
I finally came to the conclusion like a couple people in this post that they are two separate animals. MixMeister is really good at what it does and so is Serato. I own and use both. It's just liek a painter with his selection of his paint brushes. mm_sandor 888-800-0681 |

I too agree with you guys that MM & Serato are two different good programs. I've never used serato but I did come across a dj who was using it and I was impressed with what he was able to do with it so much so that I'm now awaiting the release of Serato itch/NS7 for djing live.
