We’re pleased to announce a preview version of MixMeister Fusion Video. We’ve added support for several audio and video file formats. We’ve also rebuilt our video playback engine to provide smoother and more reliable video playback. We want to see how these fundamental changes work on your machine with your video files.
CAUTION: You should consider this release as a beta version and not suitable for performance in front of an audience. Support for additional file formats relies on third party codecs. Here are some of the codecs we have successfully tested: OGG & FLAC: http://www.illiminable.com/ogg/ MPEG-2: http://www.elecard.com/ http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow DivX: http://www.divx.com http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffdshow We continue to support WMV, MPEG-1 (MPG), and AVI using the codecs built into Windows. We’re really interested to know what codecs you use and how well they work. The video features use the same playback codecs as Windows Media Player. So, if you can play the file in WMP, you should be able to play it in Fusion as well. If you want to know what codec you are using in Windows Media Player, begin playing a video in the relevant format. Then, choose Properties from the File menu. On the file tab, look for the Audio Codec and Video Codec described there. Here are some of the limitations with the preview version: 1) CD burning is not functional. You’ll get an error message if you try to burn. 2) Previewing videos from the library does not work. The only way to view a video is to add it to the playlist or the montage builder. 3) There is no thumbnail or video film strip on the timeline. The hardware requirements are unclear at this point. However, we recommend at least the following: 1) 2GHz processor, ideally a dual core or hyperthreaded design 2) 1GB of RAM 3) Dedicated video hardware with 64MB of video RAM The preview version is available in two forms: As a fully functioning version for our Fusion customers and as a demo version for those who haven’t purchased Fusion: If you are a MixMeister Fusion owner, please email support1@mixmeister.com requesting the preview version. Please include your registration key so that we can validate your order. Upon confirmation of your purchase, we will send you a link to download the Fusion Video Preview. If you aren’t a Fusion owner, please check out the demo version of Fusion Video here: http://support.mixmeister.com/mmfvdsetup.exe. As with all our demo versions, there is a spoken word watermark every five minutes. The Fusion Video Preview installs in a separate directory and will not interfere with your existing Fusion installation. We look forward to your feedback in the Fusion forums. Thank you for your interest. |
