You'll need to get specific here. It is not possible to help you without details:
1. What operating system are you using? 2. What is the current ESI driver you have installed? Do you have the correct and latest driver loaded for your OS? The latest drivers are available here: http://download.esi-audio.com/?w=esi&p=6&g=1&l=en 3. What is crashing? Fusion? or your PC? 4. When does it happen? 5. Have you researched the ESI Forums for similar behavior? 6. Do you have your PC's other chipset drivers up-to-date including hard disk controller drivers and video drivers? 7. Do you have your latest operating system patches up-to-date, including any stability patches? 8. Do you have any other audio applications installed? 9. Have you tried specifying your ESI's ASIO output for use with other audio applications (usually ASIO is only available for use in advanced audio applications)? Have you had any trouble with the performance of this card in ASIO mode in conjunction with these applications? 10. Have you had software error messages? 11. Have you had OS system error messages? Have you checked your OS system logs for these? Tim, Co-host of Jack2It MMRadio |

Hello and welcome.
got the same audio card and I'm more than satisfied.Anyway had a crash of Fusion first time I've set up audio output for ASIO.When restarted the software had no trouble anymore. This is just an unuseful report btw, to solve your problem follow Tepmix's guideline and keep on posting your results. Good luck, luca. |

Forgot to say that I had to remove Cubase (that was installed after MixMeister) due to heavy sound reproduction trouble.I had sound skipping and wrong & weird tracks speed both on Fusion and Foobar2000 that I use to preview the tracks I buy before to move them in the appropiate library folder. If you don't mind to uninstall it for a while...let's hear Tim's opinion on that.I think Cubase is a very complex application and goes very deep in the system.Just a thought, I'm not a PC lizard.

to be fair ESI has some super funky drivers. I have an u46dj soundcard and the best driver that works is about 2 years old and there has been about 4 newer ones since and all have some static/pops, so i just use the tried and true older version. Give some of those a try one might be better the the others and it might not be the latest and greatest.

Yep, ESI has not released a new 32bit XP driver update for the Juli@ card since September of 2006, after having released a minimum of at least 2 updates per year since 2004. Since 2006 they've only been releasing Vista drivers, and the Vista drivers that they have available are even all still in beta release. See here.
Way behind on their releases. What a mess Microsoft and the hardware vendors have made of the entire Windows driver model in Vista--slow to release stable Vista drivers while neglecting patching and releasing updates to their XP drivers at the same time. Your card should function as advertised with all ASIO compliant products. This card probably needs a new driver. You should report your troubles to them and ask when they're going to get around to releasing an updated driver for XP 32-bit. I'm assuming you're running in 32-bit XP--if not, the Juli@ drivers for X64 are all still in beta, and obviously prone to problems too. They should have a stable Vista release by now. Shameful. So, just another thing to keep an eye out for when purchasing hardware devices. In this case, soundcards. Make sure that your hardware manufacturer is releasing timely updates to the products that you're purchasing. If the card is current and the manufacturer has not released a driver update in more than a year, that could spell trouble. In this case the state of the Vista drivers and the lack of an XP driver release in over 18 months since the beginning of development of Vista drivers is troublesome. PCs tick me off these days. You can barely do anything serious with them at all without trouble. For those of you less stalwart looking to buy new, go buy a Mac. Seriously. Avoid this crap. Apple releases all their own driver updates for hardware that they specify in their own machines. Makes a huge difference in terms of issues like these. You shouldn't need to be a systems engineer just to get your computer to work right with its hardware. Tim, Co-host of Jack2It MMRadio |

I'm actually using the latest drivers for my u46dj (1.030) and i think they are running pretty good, with one exception... if i turn on keylock or master tempo controls in my program it will distort bad, but i dont not use those features so i might be able to work with it, i can always fall back on my old trusted driver set too. The difference bewteen the 2 drivers that i can see is the newer ones are for both XP & Vista, where the older set i used was XP only.
With MM i noticed it seperates the ASIO channels differently. ESI support is worse then asking a blind man to pee in a cup! Hate no one but love only a few... |
