When set to Delete the File From my Hard Drive, it fails to do so. Tracks later appear back at the top of the library.

I'm not certain that this isn't a bug, but here's one non-bug reason why you would see this behavior:
Go to Tools>Options>Library and see if the box is checked next to "Automatically update the library based on the following directories". Many users employ this option and some set it to a high-level directory or folder. As you know, when you delete something, it goes in the recycle bin unless you hold down the shift key while deleting, in which case the recycle bin option is bypassed and the deleted file is actually gone. If you have your library set to be updated automatically from your C drive, then deleted files are being automatically re-added to the library from their new home in the recycle bin, because the MM option to delete a file from the library and the hard drive simultaneously can't be set to bypass the recycle bin. That's how it worked in v.6 and that *might be* the problem in Fusion as well ... HTH. I got something for your mind, your body and your soul. |

Madamefly; yes, i have tried the shift delete option but no dice. The auto update is set to update with files only on my external F drive so no issue conflicts there either. Oh well. I find myself loading up my old Pro6 to delete files...

Sounds like a bug, then ... I'm trying to reproduce it in my latest update to Studio 7 ... does the deleted file reappear right away, or only after you close/re-open the program?
================ Here's what happened for me: I made a Category ("Testing") in the Library; I made a Folder in Shared to hold a track and moved a track into the folder; I imported that track into the Testing Category in my Library. I played the file, then I deleted the file, choosing the "delete from hard drive" option. The file disappeared from the MM Library (from that special category and from the entire library) HOWEVER, it did not disappear from its location on the hard drive. I closed MM Studio7 and also closed Explorer. When I reopened both the program and Explorer, I found that the file was still in the hard drive location that it should have been deleted from, but I also saw that it did not reappear in the MixMeister library. So, I can confirm that the "delete from hard drive" suffers a bug that fails to delete the file from the hard drive, but I do not see the file reappearing in the MM library. I reported the bug to Mixmeister, and they confirm, that it is a bug. They can't tell when they are going to fix it. Untill it is fixed we have to delete tracks manually, was the answer.

My understanding is that v 7.1.1.0 primarily addressed sound-quality issues that had a substantial negative effect on live performance uses; the "delete from hard drive" bug is more in the category of an annoyance or inconvenience, so that will more likely be addressed once the major issues have been dealt with.

I am not able to reproduce this problem. Is there any more detail you can provide to help us track it down?
