Every time you start MixMeister Fusion, it scans the files in the directories you specify and compares them with the files already in your Library. If you're running Windows XP or Windows Vista, MixMeister Fusion also performs this scan whenever the specified directories are updated.

On the Tools menu, choose Options, and then click the Library tab.

Click Automatically Update the Library based on the Following Directories. (You should see a check mark in the box.)

Click Add Directory.

Browse for and select the directory or folder you want MixMeister Fusion to scan regularly for new files and for new ID3 data for existing files, and then click OK.

MixMeister Fusion will scan for files in the directory you select as well as all sub-directories within it.

Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for as many directories and folders as you like, and then click OK in the Options dialog box.

To set MixMeister Fusion to create new Library categories based on the structure of the directories it's scanning

If you tend to work with a great number of files and want to save yourself a lot of time, consider using this technique. You can set MixMeister Fusion to create Library categories—and assign files to those categories—for you based on the structure and content of the directories it's scanning.

On the Tools menu, choose Options, and then click the Library tab.

Make sure there is a check mark next to Automatically Update the Library based on the Following.

Click Automatically Build Categories Based on Directory Structure. (You should see a check mark in the box.)

Click OK.

To remove a directory from the list of directories MixMeister Fusion scans

On the Tools menu, choose Options, and then click the Library tab.

Make sure there is a check mark next to Automatically Update the Library based on the Following Directories.

Select the directory you want to remove from the update list, and then click Remove.

Repeat Step 3 for any other directories you want to remove, and then click OK.

To set MixMeister Fusion to stop updating your Library by scanning one or more directories

You can temporarily suspend automatic updating of your Library without manually removing the directory names you specified earlier.
