Hey everyone!
Hope you're all doing well and I'm sending a little technique I use to broadcast my mixes to do some live mixing. First you'll have to download Nicecast, a inexpensive yet feature filled streaming program for Shoutcast, Icecast, and more. Once you have that open the program and install the included Extra called Soundflower and set-up to the streaming server you would like to connect to and you're almost ready to go. (Make sure you have the Master output selected as your Default in your Mac's System preferences before continuing.) Open up MixMeister and Nicecast. Set the source to system audio and start your broadcast. Go to Tools>Audio Output Configuration and set your main Output to SoundFlower 2CH and your preview to whatever you would like it to be. Then start Mixing! Hope this helps, Carlos |

Thank you very much. I just purchased this and I'm already up and running with a webcast. Great program for the Mac. Thanks again!

So here is my dilemna. the broadcast works good when just playing music. But i'm trying to do talk overs and such but i can't get my mic to work out. I have a Mac with MM 7.3.5.1 and i think i've tried everything, but i'm not able to get my mic working to do talk overs. i'm using Nicecast to broadcast. Can anyone help out? Anyone with a Mac who does music/voice for broadcasting online? Any help would be greatly appriciated

If it's not built into your streaming software, you're going to need to find an intermediary system software mixing application to add multi-channel mixing capability into your actual single, outbound broadcast stream, much as you would to do with mics/add'l instruments when performing live with traditional sound out.
However, according to this, recent versions of nicecast (1.9.6) should have a voiceover mixing option in a clearly available Voiceover interface gui: http://rogueamoeba.com/nicecast/ Check this and make sure you have the latest version. If you have difficulties doing your voiceovers with this version, make sure you fully read the application's "Help" menu, and/or consult the Nicecast knowledgebase. Barring resolution here, then attempt to contact support over at Rogue Amoeba, the providers of the Nicecast software, to figure out how to properly setup/use/configure your software: http://rogueamoeba.com/support/ The net is a great tool for discovering solutions to your problems--a vast library of information that can provide you with the proper sources you need to get to the root of your problems. Google can be your best friend in these situations. This message has been edited. Last edited by: tepmix, Tim, Co-host of Jack2It MMRadio |
